Camping Chateau De Lacomte

Camping Chateau De Lacomte
A small, private site between the Lot and the Dordogne. Owned and run by an English family from 1991, the country club offers adult only holidays. Just 12km from Rocamdour.

In the restaurant, enjoy the a la Carte Menu, Fine Wines and a well stocked Bar. In summer there is Alfresco dining by the pool.

If you want to go to a site that has seen better days... This is the place for you.... How i enjoyed the small pitch, cleaning the BBQ in cold water, showering in cold water, sharing the food with the thousands of flies.... Best of all was the sewer waste that overflows from the fresh water drains all over your pitch....Best money i ever spent was the day i booked another campsite and made an early morning escape... The surrounding area is beautiful.... First time i ever feel compelled to complain about a campsite... Caravaning for over 25years now and never been so disappointed.... Another good one... Try the site BBQ 18 Euro for two sausages, piece of chicken and a rib... The flies are free........Enjoy

Management Response (to WANDERER)  9th November 2011

I have no idea who this person was but we did have a breakdown of our hot water system for a week this year, this was due to the French company who supplied our thermostat for the sanitary block not understanding that if you pay for a 24hr delivery it is obviously urgent, it took 8 days to arrive. however there was hot water most of the time, it was just a bit sporadic. As for "the 'sewer waste' that overflows all over your pitch" Firstly it is totally impossible as the sewerage system is nowhere near the pitches and all the drains on the pitches are soakaways, the only time they overflow is when campers insist on emptying the residue from their saucepans and plates down them causing them to block, as soon as this happens we deal with it as quiokly as possible. The BBq are extremely popular and donot consist of 2 sausages a piece of chicken and a rib. It comprises of 1/4 chicken, sausages,as many ribs as you want, a large selection of different saladsand side dishes,as many chips as you want , Garlic bread, ordinary bread, sauces and dips, followed by a dessert all to the accompaniment of very good live bands.
We are in the country with many trees and thickets, obviously there are flies, wasps, bees, moths, butterflies, ants, spiders, etc in fact a nature lovers paradise, which is clearly stated on our website.
As for our pitches they are all a minimum of 110m2 and fully serviced which has been verified by the local authority when the site was classified, in fact most of them are 120-130m2!
We cannot obviously please everybody and we are sorry for those people who feel they have a complaint or are disappointed but we feel that if they have a justifiable grievance and before writing reports on the internet they should make their grievance known to the owners.
